A pair of Model 2157s will extend existing Ethernet network connections up to 9.4km without the need for costly fibre-optic or dedicated LAN-grade cabling. An existing pair of voice grade (Cat 1) copper wires can be used  to transmit Ethernet data to remote outstations, IP cameras or even an entire LAN. The 2157 features auto-rate adaptation which automatically sets up each link at the best possible line-rate, making installation simple.
